This was a christmas present for my husband and he loves it.
In season 2 the story of the Death Metal band DethKlok evolves to show deeper character development. The band members personalities begin to emerge through exposition of backstories. The artwork remains somewhat crude, although it has improved over season 1. The members facial expressions evoke a greater range of emotions, and are more satisfying than the previous, comic book level artwork.The series has a lot of potential. If the artisits can find a way to appeal to the higher cerebral functions of the audience, while maintaining the basic dumbness of the scenario of metal rockers with too much power and money engaging in selfish and hedonistic lifestyles. The disregard the band shows for the audience may be a continuing source for humor. Season 2 late episodes show promising developments of human emotions in the characters, but balance and perspective is needed if sentimentality is to be avoided. The final episode plumbs the depths of auto eroticism and immaturity with groundbreaking crudeness. How will the artists bring the storyline back from the edge of homosexual-eroticism?
Now that is how Metal is supposed to be. Not some milktoast Metalica Bat Dung!!!
